"Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn't hurt the untroubled spirit either." -Elizabeth Zimmerman
We sat on the back porch one summer evening a few years ago, family and friends enjoying quiet conversation and tea. I was knitting. A young man, on his way up in the world of business in New York City, watched my hands moving with the needles and remarked, "Just watching you makes me feel peaceful."
In the last few years, I have become a knitter. Not an expert, by any means - I'm continually learning. One thing I've learned that I really don't want to go anywhere without a bit of knitting in my bag. My arthritic right hand revolts at times ... so I stop, massage it a little, and carry on.
I'm setting aside this little space to keep track of my knitting... starting with one of my very favorite, first, real projects completed ...
Feather and Fan shawl made from Euroflax linen
Sorry, I no longer have the yarn or pattern information
April, 2008
I'll be adding photos, somewhat chronologically, til I get up to date. After that shawl, I think I mostly worked on small items, a couple of hats, some wristlets, a few felted odds and ends...
I'm going to start adding projects at the top, in this spot below the flax shawl, from now on. It's just easier and doesn't require any more scrolling to the bottom to see the latest project. If you're interested in older projects, you can scroll down.
