Bapatla diary 21

Rajasekhara Babu and his wife, Hepsy are the heart and soul of the Children's Home. We got to know them as Babu Uncle and Auntie, Hepsy, or sister. They are two amazing, precious people who have given their lives to care for these children.

Hepsy fed us with prawn curry and the best mangos ever. She manages so many things around the home but always seems so patient and calm.

Babu loves to play with the children and there is a lot of good natured teasing that goes back and forth. The kids love to tease him about his belly, calling it his "balloon." He has nicknames for most of the children. He can be stern and strict and not to be trifled with if he is dispensing discipline. But then, the children will come up and gather around him, crawl on his lap, grab his arm, all eager to touch and be touched. So much love.

Babu will be coming to the states in September and October. He'll be visiting Kathy in Michigan and we just found out last week that he's coming to NC! We hope to host him in our home and return a small portion of the amazing hospitality we experienced in Bapatla. We also hope to plan a time for him to speak, so if you're in the area and want details, let me know.
